The Classic Gin Gimlet

Traditionally made with vodka, the gimlet is a traditional summer cocktail, easily made and easily enjoyed. For a twist, try it with a floral gin.

Ingredients

2 1/2ounces ginWe prefer Tanqueray although have used Hendrick’s, which has a strong cucumber taste. Get something good (it’s the star) and not too juniper berry forward.
1/4ounce fresh lime juice
1/4ounce simple syrupMake by combining equal parts sugar or honey to water and heating over the stove top until dissolved.

lemon wedges, lime wedges, cucumber, rosemaryUse for garnish.

Instructions

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake. Strain into a rocks glass, serve over ice. Garnish as preferred with lemon wedges, lime wedges, cucumber, and/or rosemary sprig.
